The Challenge: Bringing Science-First Innovation to Market on a Startup Budget

While still a small team, Myota operates at the cutting edge of nutrition science—but faces the same hurdles as many early-stage biotech startups: limited funding for clinical research and strict data-handling requirements. Traditional EDC systems proved cost-prohibitive, forcing small companies like Myota to consider manual data collection or less secure tools.
“Without Captivate, we wouldn’t have been able to afford a compliant EDC platform. Running a 150-plus-participant study on paper just isn’t feasible,” said Caitlin, Head of Research at Myota Health. “The Weidley’s Wish program was truly a game-changer for us.”

Their principal investigator, who typically uses an academic-focused EDC at the university level, praised Captivate’s usability:
